Business & Financial Services is pleased to announce the release of Phase III of the Payroll Certification cycle (July 1, 2025 – December 31, 2025). This new phase builds upon the system deployment earlier this year and provides an opportunity to begin certifications early and stay ahead of deadlines.  Phase III Payroll Certifications due dates are as follows: Coordinators review due by May 15, 2026 with PI Certification due by June 1, 2026.

Outstanding Certifications

As of April 14, 92 certifications from Phase I (07/01/2023 – 6/30/2024) and 184 certifications from Phase II (7/1/2024 – 6/30/2025) remain pending. Any certifications that remain outstanding from Phase I or Phase II will continue to appear in the system alongside the Phase III release. Phase I and II certifications are now past due and must be submitted immediately.

Important: If a PI has retired or separated, please email emf@ucr.edu to have the certification reassigned to the Department Chair for certification.

Phase III Certifications

The Phase III cycle includes awards with certification periods ending on or before December 31, 2025. Awards with certification periods extending beyond this date (e.g., ending February 2026) are not part of this release and will be included in a future cycle.

System Access and Resources

Coordinators access the Payroll Certification system through R’Space Authorized Apps and serve as the primary contact for PIs. PIs are automatically granted access and will receive a notification once the Coordinator completes their review and submits the record for certification.
