Business & Financial Services is pleased to announce the release of Phase II of the Payroll Certification cycle (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025). This new phase builds upon the system deployment earlier this year and provides an opportunity to begin certifications early and stay ahead of deadlines.

Outstanding Phase I Certifications

As of October 20, 181certifications from Phase I (July 2023 – June 2024) remain pending. Any certifications that remain outstanding from Phase I will continue to appear in the system alongside the Phase II release. Departments are encouraged to complete these as soon as possible to ensure compliance and streamline upcoming reviews. 

Important: If a PI has retired or separated, please email emf@ucr.edu to have the certification reassigned to the Department Chair for certification.

Phase II Certifications

The Phase II cycle includes awards with certification periods ending on or before June 30, 2025. Awards with certification periods extending beyond this date (e.g., ending August 2025) are not part of this release and will be included in a future cycle.

System Access and Resources

Coordinators access the Payroll Certification system through R’Space Authorized Apps and serve as the primary contact for PIs. PIs are automatically granted access and will receive a notification once the Coordinator completes their review and submits the record for certification.
