Increase in Rates for Entertainment & Business Meeting Meals

Dear Colleagues,

Effective September 1, 2025, the maximum allowable meal rates for entertainment and business meeting expenses have increased by approximately 10% in response to rising food prices.

New Maximum Per-Person Rates

  • Breakfast: $34
  • Lunch: $59
  • Dinner: $103
  • Light Refreshments: $24

These rates apply to all entertainment and business meeting meal expenses incurred on or after the effective date.

Important Notes

  • The per-person amounts include food and beverages, labor, sales tax, service, and delivery charges.
  • Costs not included in the per-person limit: room rental, set-up fees, media rental, and decorations.
  • Exceptions apply only to donor and recruitment-related events hosted by the Chancellor, which may exceed these limits.
  • Business and Finance Bulletin BUS-79: Expenditures for Entertainment, Business Meetings, and Other Occasions has been revised to reflect these updated amounts.
