Upcoming Changes to Looker Finance – Effective July 22

I am writing to inform you of upcoming changes to Looker-Finance effective July 22, with additional updates planned for a future release. These enhancements are designed to improve clarity and support more detailed financial reporting. 


Scheduled for July 22 – Key Changes

Renamed Fields & Groupings

  • Ledger (under Dimensions – Dates) → Specialty
  • Accounting Date (under Specialty) → GL Accounting Date
  • Ledger Details → Details – GL

New Fields & Groupings

  • Specialty (under Dimensions – Dates): New Field: Oracle Budget Adjustment Date
  • Details – GL: New Fields: Accounting Class, Event Type Name
  • Details – Oracle Budget (new grouping): New Fields: Budget Type, Data Source, Scenario

Metrics Redesign
A new unified Metrics grouping will consolidate the current four categories. Retained fields:

  • GL Actual Amount (formerly GL Line Actual Amount)
  • GL Control Budget Amount (formerly GL Budget Amount)
  • GL Encumbrance Amount (formerly GL Line Encumbrance Amount)
  • Oracle Budget Amount (new)
     
Coming Soon – In Development (ETA 6+ weeks):

New Details - Project Budget Grouping
Includes: Award Name, Award Status, Funding Source, Primary Sponsor, Principal Investigator, Project Status

New Specialty Dates
Award Start/End Date, Project Start/End Date

New Metrics Field
Project Budget Amount – Inception to Date
