Timesheets for employees that transition from monthly to bi-weekly status

As you may know, the Time & Attendance Reporting System (TARS) can only issue one timesheet per employee at a time even when the employee transitions from monthly to biweekly pay cycle and vice versa. Starting with the 11/20/16-12/03/16 biweekly pay period and the 11/16/16-12/15/16 monthly pay period, an employee who transitions to either pay cycle will be issued two timesheets, one for the monthly pay cycle and the other for the biweekly pay cycle. This feature will eliminate the manual tracking of hours worked and/or absence from work when the employee moves from one pay cycle to the other. The timesheets will be routed to the Primary Supervisor only. Please use the Secondary Supervisor process to approve a timesheet that may require a different Supervisor from the Primary Supervisor. Here’s the link for the Secondary Supervisor procedure: http://cnc.ucr.edu/tars/images/secondarysuptaa.pdf.

This feature was very important to implement due to the recent implementation of the FLSA rule that required many employees to be transitioned from the monthly to the biweekly pay cycle. Thanks to our Computing and Communications Programmer for this enhancement.
