Announcement on Changes to Student Fee Revenue Accounts

In an effort to improve transparency, Office of the President established new reporting standards that require modifications to UCRFS account code structure. These changes will be implemented throughout Fiscal Year 2017. The first set of changes involve the establishment of new revenue accounts in the student fee area. A listing of new revenue accounts is provided below. Please refer to the UCRFS Golden Tree Viewer for a complete description of the accounts. It is important to note that the fund numbers associated with these student fee revenue accounts are not changing.

To assist with the transition to the new student fee revenue accounts, Banner detail codes were established with these account values as part of the Banner Student Information System deployment in October. Although the majority of account changes do not impact departmental ledgers, there are two accounts that require action by departments: B20009/R20009 Compulsory Fees (e.g. student referendum fees) and B20010/R20010 Course Materials Fee. Prior to 6/30/2017, units with student referendum and course material revenue recorded under departmental activity codes are requested to take the following actions:

  1. Adjust permanent budgets to reflect the new revenue accounts;
  2. Adjust temporary budgets to reflect the new revenue accounts; and
  3. Coordinate the transfer any "actuals" revenue appearing under the old revenue account to the new revenue accounts with the Accounting Office (instructions will be provided in the Fiscal Closing letter distributed in spring).
