Announcing HigherOne's CASHNet as UCR Campus Gateway

By Bobbi McCracken (Associate Vice Chancellor for Business & Financial Services and Controller) |
Riverside, Ca –

As part of the Banner Student Information System implementation, the campus chose HigherOne’s CASHNet for student account self-service. In addition to the student functionality, and to promote organizational excellence, UCR licensed CASHNet’s eMarkets module; eMarkets will provide the campus with new web store (eCommerce) functionality for rapid deployment and minimal IT development costs.

The following features will be available from CASHNet eMarkets:

  • Quicker and easier set up of new storefronts using a template-based web platform
  • More affordable set up of storefronts. No extra computer hardware or server requirements as sites are hosted entirely on CASHNet’s secure servers
  • Reduced PCI DSS validation requirements when using CASHNet’s Merchant ID (must meet certain criteria)
  • Additional web payment solutions will be available for custom-built web stores

As a result of the CASHNet implementation, the campus will be able to retire SecurePay. To accommodate this change, current SecurePay ecommerce merchants will be migrated to CASHNet during the first half of 2016 for July deployment. SBS/Cashiers, in conjunction with C&C, will be sending out specific communication to those affected by this change, to develop a project plan for deployment.

Additional information is being developed outlining the CASHNet eMarket options. If there are questions regarding the overall CASHNet deployment, please contact the Campus Credit Card Coordinator, Asirra Suguitan, at cashandmerchant@ucr.edu.
